I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at West Chester University in Pennsylvania. I previously received Ph.D. and M.A in American Politics and Public Policy from George Washington University and a B.A. in Political Science and English at Saint Michael's College.
My research agenda focuses on gender, state politics, and identity politics. Specifically, I explore the importance and influence of women’s involvement in politics, the mobilization of women’s groups, and the institutional, cultural, and policy obstacles women face when running for office. My current book project uses a mixed-methods approach to help explain why Democratic women have continued to far outnumber their Republican counterparts in gaining elected office since the 1990s and continue to do so. |
